- Academic : To ensure that every one of our scholars has the capacity to read, write, think, discuss and problem solve, and to ensure that these transferable skills are effectively utilized to achieve their college and career objectives.
- Citizenship : To embrace the ten character virtues that make up our Keys To Success: Responsibility, Perseverance, Respect, Kindness, Truth, Citizenship, Courage, Self-Discipline, Fairness, True Friendship. And, to demonstrate their grasp in behavior and action.
- Purpose : To adopt the philosophy of Booker T. Washington, specifically as it relates to the importance of hard work, the value of a quality education, and a commitment to giving back to one’s community.
We believe that developing strong moral character in our students is a path to their success in school and in life. The school plan includes many features, which will enable our students to meet world-class standards in reading, mathematics, writing, citizenship and leadership. Booker T. Washington offers the following:
- an extended school day, which begins with breakfast, 7.5 full hours of instruction daily (including 3.5 hours dedicated to Reading and Writing, and 1.5 hours of Math), and weekly access to 2.25 hours of Science, 4.5 hours of Visual and Performing Arts (Dance), 2.25 hours of Physical Education, and 1.5 hours of Foreign Language.
